sitescope 10.0 integration with loadrunner 9.0
As you can see, I’ve been playing with the new SiteScope. I cant say I’m overly impressed with allot of the decisions HP/Mercury has made. The removal of the classic interface, was a bad choice in my opinion. I never used the new UI, and always knew where everything was on the old UI. It was faster, and easier to get an overall picture.
The only reason I upgraded was for our new version of BAC I am trying to implement. However, during my BAU work, I noticed my metrics were not coming into loadrunner in my laodtests. Then I read an article that SiteScope 10 was not supported with loadrunner 9.0 and 9.5 and I would receive no support on the matter….thanks Mr. HP…
Luckily, I’ve worked out how to get it working with minimal fuss….
I have managed to get this working with authentication and no authentication. I don’t run authentication on my SiteScope here, because there is no real threat of anyone mucking it up and I have all my settings backed up anyway in case a h4×0r comes my way.
For SiteScope with no configured authentication
1. Open SiteScope and configure monitors.
2. Verify that you can see the Topaz XML data at the URL:
http://localhost:8888/SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz
3. Open C:\Program Files\HP\LoadRunner\dat\monitors\xmlmonitorshared.ini and edit the SiteScope section:
[SiteScope] ;ExtensionDll=SiteScopeMonExt.dll MetricDataURL=SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz MetricListURL=SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz&operation=config DefaultPort=8888 DlgTitle=SiteScope Monitor RefreshMetricList=1 EnableAccount=1
For SiteScope with authentication configured:
1. Open SiteScope and configure monitors.
2. Ensure your SiteScope admin has a password
3. Add a new SiteScope user with a user ID and password.
4. Verify that you can see Topaz XML data at the URL
http://localhost:8888/SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz&account=login1
The “login=1″ part is the user index, for each user you add, the index increases by 1)
5. Open C:\Program Files\HP\LoadRunner\dat\monitors\xmlmonitorshared.ini and edit the SiteScope section.
[SiteScope] ;ExtensionDll=SiteScopeMonExt.dll MetricDataURL=SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz&account=login1 MetricListURL=SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz&operation=config&account=login1 DefaultPort=8888 DlgTitle=SiteScope Monitor RefreshMetricList=1 EnableAccount=1 QueryLoginInfo=1
Save your settings, re-open your controller, and away you go!

Where did you get the notion that SiteScope 10 integration was not supported with loadrunner 9.0 and 9.5?
SiteScope 10.0 supports integration with PC 9.1 and PC 9.5.
The same is true for SiteScope 9.5x and SiteScope 10.1.
If you got an official email/document from HP support saying the contrary, please let me know.

Hi,I read the article and I’ not agree with what was written for versions indicated. The page http://localhost:8888/SiteScope/cgi/go.exe/SiteScope?page=topaz are always not available (the application returns a 404 error) for the versions 9 or later of Sitescope. Anyone know the problem and/or the solution?

Hi Edo,
Sitescope may work with PC, but it is not able to connect to a Controler (loadrunner). I have spoken to HP support staff about this and they advised it was not possible.
I tried many times and was not able to get it to work successfully. We do not run Performance centre at my current organisation, it seems that HP is focusing more on Perf center than Loadrunner, which is sad, as Loadrunner controller is a great application.

It should work unless you are doing something wrong.
ie. Disable all user accoutnts so when you open sitescope using the normal URL it takes you right in without prompting for a login. If that works, the url above should work.
Check your hosts file, and make sure the ip address for sitescope server routes through to the computername.

Hi Luca,
I have exactly the same problem with 9.51 SS and 9.51 LR. The SiteScopeLR main site works fine (without login) but the Topaz-Site always throws a 404 error. I have no clue what else I should try. I’ve had a HP consultant with me and he couldn’t help me either. He promised to do some research and let me know when he finds the problem. I really hope he’ll find the problem.

I do not understand what you are refering to. I am basing this blog on what I experienced, and what I noted many others users experienced.
So if you think it is false, that is your opinon, but there is no dobut that I was affected by the above issue, and the HP support person confirmed this.
